Our Vision

Our vision is to make the DAV Balasore Digital Library an integral part of the school community by offering a wide range of resources and services that support and enrich the learning experiences of students and teachers alike.

Our Resource Centre

The DAV Balasore Digital Library is open on all school days from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.


It is now recognized as one of the leading school libraries, integrating the latest technological advancements to ensure a user-friendly and easily accessible experience.


The library plays a vital role in the cultural and intellectual life of the school. It serves as a central hub for reading, cultural events, information access, knowledge development, critical thinking, and engaging discussions.


Key features include:


  1. A well-equipped, spacious, well-ventilated, and comfortably furnished environment.
  2. An open access system, allowing students and staff to freely browse and choose books.
  3. High-end automation software (ivy-edu 5.0 ERP) for smooth and efficient operations.


Library Rules

  1. Be respectful to everyone in the library.
  2. Handle books and other materials with care.
  3. No food or drinks are allowed inside.
  4. Maintain silence to create a peaceful reading atmosphere.
  5. Students may use the library during their scheduled library periods, Zero Period, or after school hours.
  6. Library use during other periods requires written permission from the Supervisory Head or Subject Teacher.


Book borrowing policy:


  • Class III–X: 1–2 books for 7 days.
  • Class XI–XII: 2–3 books for 7 days.
  • Personal books are not allowed inside the library.
  • Students must check books for damage before borrowing. Any existing damage must be reported immediately.
  • Lost or damaged books must be compensated along with a fine.
  • Books can be renewed twice if not reserved by another user. Students must present the book at the time of renewal.

Check-In/Check-Out Policy

  • Students: 2 books for 7 days (renewable for another 7 days). ID card required.
  • Faculty & Staff: Up to 5 books for 1 month. ID card required.
